Be Love through Kindness

Since the earliest times of human awareness, we have asked, “Why am I here?” or “What is my purpose?” The spiritual answer to that is that each of us are here to be of service and to help each other as much as we can. Though there will be sub purposes, such as a profession and so forth, in truth, we are at our highest level of being when we act with kindness.

This is about kindness that is performed without strings of any kind attached; unconditional kindness. Giving something, whether its your time, emotional support, assistance or countless other acts of kindness solely for the desire to be of service and to be helpful. This creates a strong positive energy around and inside you. To know that you have done someone a good deed is the greatest feeling in the world and answers the question, “why am I here” by giving you the reason and increasing your sense of purpose.

“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is known as the Golden Rule. I can’t imagine any one who would want to be treated with anything other than  love and kindness. Wouldn’t you like everyone you meet to treat you with kindness? Yet a simple smile to people we encounter while at the park, shopping, doing errands and what not, seems to be a thing of the past. Doesn’t it make you feel good when someone smiles at you?

Why not make a conscious choice to smile at everyone you see today? Don’t bother yourself if they don’t return your smile. Remember, your exercising “your” ability to be kind. Though it might be interesting to note how many do smile back at you. And who knows, if later you again see the “none smilers,” they might be prepared to smile at you this time. It is contagious once one overcomes the surprise of receiving a warm, kind smile.

  1. Life is wonderful but short. I believe there is a purpose. I have finally realize that I need to give something , to share.
Blogging is one of the best ways that we can do, like me, I give my little thoughts here and there.
    Take care always, my friend.

  2. Hello coolingstar9

Blogging is a great way to reach out to people. Sharing thoughts, feelings, experiences and so on are things that can benefit others and help us feel connected.

  3. 🙂 A smile or kind word costs nothing, but we hoard them close. I have often wondered why we are so stingy with our words, instead of have a nice day, why can’t we wish them a wonderful, fantastic day filled with joy and bliss as I wish for you?

  4. Hi Jude

Thank you so much for your kind wishes and I send these beautiful wishes to you as well.

I agree, we should take the initiative to smile or speak kind words; not wait for the other person to do it first. Maybe that is what contributes to the decline in our expressing warmth and kindness to others. Instead of being shy, perhaps we could be bold and just do it, without concern that the recipient might not respond in like.

If your doing so doesn’t make the other person feel good, it will still make you feel good. It’s not your failure that they can’t accept love, its theirs.

Its always a pleasure to see you dear friend.
